WILLS POINT PUPPY MILL SURVIVORS UPDATE
We have made significant progress with the little mill dogs rescued from the puppymill
in north Texas.

This is Bear.  Bear is the one we thought had broken joints.  When
we first got Bear, he could barely walk - he walked slowly in a
crouching manner.  This weird stance is what we believe made everyone
think he had broken bones.  We x-rayed his entire body and found no
evidence of breaks or fractures so he has been on anti-inflamatory
and crate rest for a month.  He is now walking almost normally and
even running at times.  If he continues to improve, we will do nothing
more - we suspect now that he was either kept in a very small cage at
the mill or he was just so terrified that he thought the lower he could
walk, the safer it was.  He is a total sweetheart and almost
housetrained.  He does have minor submissive urination right now, but
is attending obedience training to improve his confidence - we believe
he will improve emotionally as well as physically.  Bear is AVAILABLE
for adoption.  Please

This is Princess Di, otherwise known as PD.  PD came to us with one
eye already removed.  Although we tried to save the other, we could not.  In mid
July, we had the second eye removed.  But, don't tell PD that she is blind - she
has yet to realize it.  She has a great sense of direction and navigates like a
sited dog.

BEST news - PD is adopted already.  She was specifically chosen by a prior
adopter because of her "handicap."  Sometimes, there really are good people in
the world.  PD now lives in the Denver, CO area.
This is Kissy. Now
renamed Lexi, she had a mild
case of demodex and is being
treated right now.  We expect
Lexi to be available for
adoption in around a month.
She is a tiny, 6 pound bundle
of energy.
This is Coco.  Coco had just a mild case
of demodex and is now READY for a home.
Are YOU that home?
This is RaeAnn and Squiggles.

Both of these cuties are just
waiting for a new home.  They
had bad skin, most likely from
bad nutrition, and are slowly
growing back a good coat.

Brad Pitt.

Brad Pitt, so named because we
thought he needed a bit of
confidence-building, has a horrible
case of demodex and we are still
struggling to get it under control.
Severe cases, like Brad's, take months
just to get under control.  Brad will
always live with demodex, though.
